God is good…Give Him Praise

I know that we as people have a tendency  to fail to give God all the praise and honor he is due, and then some. Did he give you life, a home, a family, a job, and food on your table… the list can grow on and on. God is a loving  and caring Father. He nuture’s and cares for all his children.

Each of us, fail in this, we forget to give him praise after the storm has passed, or that moment we prayed so hard for that request that was urgent in our life.  It is easy to forget, and think about our self all over again.

Give him praise first thing in the morning,  give him honor during the day, praise him for bringing you through the day, go ahead and praise him anyway.

Run the Race

pexels-photo-103889

We do, each of us have a race to run in serving the Lord, we want to obtain that crown of righteousness, that approval of our loving Father. For he sees our lives, he knows what is in our hearts, and minds. God is a loving God, but he is also a just God.  To achieve a crown, of righteousness, to lead souls that may have gone astray, and to help others to know there is a better way by accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
I prayed and thought about what the Lord may want me to post, in my thoughts were focused on my son in law Jesse. He is currently this very moment, at the Boston Marathon. He has trained for months and worked so hard each and every day to get his body in the physical condition that is needed to run this marathon. Jesse would get up early, and run in the dark, cold, rain and snow.

1 Corinthians 9:23-25 NKJV

23 Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.

Striving for a Crown

24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.

When you train for any race, it can be difficult, your training to win the prize,  to run alongside many that have trained just as hard as you may have, they all have that same goal in mind, to make it to the finish line. All the sweat, muscle aches, and pains, it is worth it in the end. I guess you could say this training and lifestyle is representative of running the race for God, reading his word, and praying to get strength,  fasting and praying, drawing close to him and his Holy Spirit.

2 Timothy 4:7-9 NKJV

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.

The race, the spiritual race has begun and will continue, trust in him to guide your feet swiftly in his name.
Put on the whole armor of God, he will see you through to the end of the race.

The Race of Faith

Hebrews 12:1 NKJV

12 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Faith…

He Is Faithful

What do you think the words  harvesting faith, actually means to you? Do you feel it is vital in  your walk as a Christian?  Our walk in Christ, is to be an example, someone that may shine a light to someone that may be in darkness. An encourager, one that uplifts and brings hope to someone, or a group of people, that are challenged in their walk with Christ. Send me your thoughts on what harvesting faith means to you.

So many questions concerning our faith values today. In our walk with Christ, we are to be as he is and was, he steps lead a path to living for him, in a secure and happy life.

How are we to make or get the harvest in, by sharing and caring

18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. NKJV

This was a command by our Savior, Jesus Christ, he lived among man and he knew that we must send forth his message to save the lost. To bring a hope and new life to man. This is our duty to the fallen, to the lost, and the hurting. They should have every opportunity to find Jesus. Our harvest is the souls that are lost, lonely, hurting, poor, the sick a and everyone that may not have Jesus. To sow a harvest one must plant the seeds and water the soil, God will give the increase.

Walk In Newness of Life

And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.

Romans 6: 1,2,4

1.What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?God forbid.

2. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

We should live our everyday lives ‘  manifesting resurrection if, free from sin’s control.

4. Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death; that like as Christ was raise up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

We should live our everyday lives manifesting resurrection life, free from sin’s control.

We are believers, freed from sin, The believer has been delivered from the guilt and penalty of sin and is set free to serve Christ.

Romans 6:14

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

In this Paul is calling for a more determined commitment.

Are you totally committed to serving God? Walking in the newness of life, is this how you are living for Jesus. Thank him for the price he paid, with his life, to give us newness of life with him. In continual service to him.

He is your hope, when your frightened with nowhere to run, cry out for help from the Savior. He will never leave nor forsake you. Blessings to you my friends. Think of that old song that may be heard in every church across the nation, Amazing Grace, for if it was not for his grace, where would we be?

He Bore Our Sorrows

He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.

But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.nd by His stripes we are healed.

Hosanna

pexels-photo-165814The Triumphal Entry-Mark 11:1-11

Now when they drew near Jerusalem, to Bethphage[a] and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, He sent two of His disciples; and He said to them, “Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you have entered it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has sat. Loose it and bring it. And if anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord has need of it,’ and immediately he will send it here.”

So they went their way, and found the[b] colt tied by the door outside on the street, and they loosed it. But some of those who stood there said to them, “What are you doing, loosing the colt?”

And they spoke to them just as Jesus had commanded. So they let them go. Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their clothes on it, and He sat on it. And many spread their clothes on the road, and others cut down leafy branches from the trees and spread them on the road. Then those who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:

“Hosanna!
‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’
10 Blessed is the kingdom of our father David
That comes in the name of the Lord!
Hosanna in the highest!”

11 And Jesus went into Jerusalem and into the temple. So when He had looked around at all things, as the hour was already late, He went out to Bethany with the twelve.

The disciples spread their cloaks on the donkey for Jesus to sit on, and the multitudes came out to welcome Him, laying before Him their cloaks and the branches of palm trees

The people hailed and praised Him as the “King who comes in the name of the Lord” as He rode to the temple, where He taught the people, healed them, and drove out the money-changers and merchants who had made His Father’s house a “of robbers”

Jesus’ purpose in riding into Jerusalem was to make public His claim to be their Messiah and King of Israel in fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy.

Tradition places this event on the Sunday before the resurrection. Give God glory and honor for all that he has done for us, with the sacrifice of his son Jesus Christ. What does Palm Sunday mean to you, does your church celebrate this biblical event? This signifies that he is the King of the Jews, our soon coming king, one to die for our sins. To be the propitiation for sin. Our Jesus, the lowly Jesus, loved us so very much to die for our sins.

Jesus … and the Cross Him Crucified

Not only with spring comes flowers and bright green grasses, pretty hats, and new shoes for Easter. But what comes in this season, is the story of Jesus and his walk to the cross. The path to Calvary, from Gethsemane, the rejection, hurt, pain that he endured.

The Easter bunny is known throughout the country and the world, books are written, plays given in your elementary schools, and the stores are flooded with all sorts of candy and brand new shiny shoes with pretty bows, and hats for the ladies and the little girls. The bunny will even take a picture with your child for a fee. Well, commercialism, just like Christmas, the toys the parties you get it.

Jesus was born into this world, not to condemn it , but to save us from our sins, give us new life with him. He walked the dusty roads from Nazareth to Jerusalem. He healed the blind man, raised the dead,  fed the five thousand, so many miracles , and the love  that he showed to his fellow man. How can we forget what he has done for us all? The love it took to hang on an old rugged cross, with nails in his hands and feet, the crown of thorns that pierced   his skull until the blood spewed, with any head injury, it is known to bleed profusely. The spitting in his face, and the plucking of his beard, the stripes, oh  those beatings, one can only imagine the torture and the excruciating pain he felt. There were shards of stone, and glass,  at each swing , it ripped apart  his flesh. I believe you get the picture I have tried to portray for you. We would never really now just how he looked, and felt, we were not there, but many watched him  to be humiliated, and torn into shreds by the hands of men he loved, and may have healed.

Easter … well this is a day reserved for my Lord, his goodness towards me and to every one of this world, he offered his body a living sacrifice. The prayer he prayed at Gethsemane, the sweat of his brow poured out like great drops of blood, how he must have agonized at the thought of what he must have to go through for me and you.

The Prayer in the Garden

Mark 14:32

32 Then they came to a place which was named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, “Sit here while I pray.”

John 18:1

Betrayal and Arrest in Gethsemane

18 When Jesus had spoken these words, He went out with His disciples over the Brook Kidron, where there was a garden, which He and His disciples entered. And Judas, who betrayed Him, also knew the place; for Jesus often met there with His disciples. Then Judas, having received a detachment of troops, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons

Betrayal and Arrest in Gethsemane

Matthew 26: 46-48

47 And while He was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and elders of the people.

48 Now His betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him.”

he twelve, went before them and drew near to Jesus to kiss Him.

Jesus was with his friends, and one of his friends betrayed him. The others fled and left him. Peter denied him thrice. How lonely and horrible he had to have felt. He knew before he came to this earth, what he was going to do. He set out to live and die for each of us.

Jesus Christ him crucified, died for you, and me, so we can be set free from the bondage of sin. To live life eternally with him, he not only died for us, but when he arose and ascended into heaven, he gave us a gift, a gift of life, and now a Comforter to the Holy Spirit, to see us through out our daily lives. To walk with us, to guide our hearts, to convict our hearts, to renew our minds, to give us knowledge by way of discernment through his Holy Spirit by way of reading the word. The word, Jesus is the word, the living bread, he is our Lord and Savior, so this Easter, think about what he has done for you. Not the Easter bunny, that is just a pagan image, manmade. Give  your children the Lord on Easter and everyday.

It Is Never Enough

I cannot relate exactly what Jesus did for us all. I can only give a thought, and example, or an idea of what it may have been like. No words could every portray, no mortal tongue could ever say, just what Jesus did. No artist could every portray the love of Jesus. Do you know Jesus? Ask him into your heart today, he loves you so very much, you know he died for you. He will forgive you of all your sins, and give to you a new heart, new life in him. Wont you ask him in your heart today? He is a whisper away.

Thank You Dear Sweet Jesus Christ, My Savior

Pray Without Ceasing

pexels-photo-241332Acts 12

12 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.

And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.

10 When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

11 And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

Prayer Is Our Lifeline to God

Prayer without ceasing from the church was made continually for Peter.  In James 12 2-4, James’s death is the first and only apostolic martyrdom recorded in Scripture. Herod intended to make Peter the second martyr and took extreme measures to secure his imprisonments, leaving the four soldiers to guard him at all times.

In verse 7, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. Due to continual faith in God and constant prayer this man was set free.

Today some of us may have chains that need to be broken, and for us to be set free, we can have that same miracle from God, if we pray without ceasing, and have faith in God. His word is true, and what he says he will do, this  he will do for you!

Herod had intended to kill Peter , he wanted to make an example of Peter and send a message to the church. But God prevailed mightier than this evil leader and he heard the cries of his children, for their brother. Though the prayer through the church was a fervent prayer, due to Peter’s situation, there was a deficiency in faith in v 15, 16.

15 And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.

16 But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.Evidently they did not believe God would answer in this miraculous way or so soon.

We have his assurance that he will meet our need. and answer our prayer. Hold on to this thought and through faith, believe God will answer any prayer you may have. Trust in the Lord, and you will find that your situation as been taken care of by the master. Sometimes his answer is quick, and also he answers in his way and in his own time. God does answer prayer. Have you ever heard or read the scripture,   James 5:161, Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

How many times can you recall the hand of God on your life, and how he did answer your prayer, maybe you did not realize that moment when the prayer was answered, but eventually it did come, your answer came. In saying this, remember we serve a loving God, and Heavenly Father, that wants the very best for his children that serve him.
