I am here to harvest encouragement into the hearts to the women of faith. Too often we disengage from reading the word and praying, our lifeline to God is through our prayer. I am here to shed light and hope into your hearts. Come join me in our walk together, set your feet on the solid rock of Jesus Christ. Remember God is there for you in every aspect of your life, no matter the situation, as long as you are his child, have faith in him, believe that he can restore the good back into your life.
Ephesians 3:20-21King James Version (KJV)
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
This shows the goodness of God, no matter how difficult or trivial our needs may be, he is able to do anything. Give God the glory.
The Triumphal Entry-Mark 11:1-11
Now when they drew near Jerusalem, to Bethphage[a] and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, He sent two of His disciples; 2 and He said to them, “Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you have entered it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has sat. Loose it and bring it. 3 And if anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord has need of it,’ and immediately he will send it here.”
4 So they went their way, and found the[b] colt tied by the door outside on the street, and they loosed it. 5 But some of those who stood there said to them, “What are you doing, loosing the colt?”
6 And they spoke to them just as Jesus had commanded. So they let them go. 7 Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their clothes on it, and He sat on it. 8 And many spread their clothes on the road, and others cut down leafy branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 Then those who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:
‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’
10 Blessed is the kingdom of our father David
That comes in the name of the Lord!
Hosanna in the highest!”
11 And Jesus went into Jerusalem and into the temple. So when He had looked around at all things, as the hour was already late, He went out to Bethany with the twelve.
The disciples spread their cloaks on the donkey for Jesus to sit on, and the multitudes came out to welcome Him, laying before Him their cloaks and the branches of palm trees
The people hailed and praised Him as the “King who comes in the name of the Lord” as He rode to the temple, where He taught the people, healed them, and drove out the money-changers and merchants who had made His Father’s house a “of robbers”
Jesus’ purpose in riding into Jerusalem was to make public His claim to be their Messiah and King of Israel in fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy.
Tradition places this event on the Sunday before the resurrection. Give God glory and honor for all that he has done for us, with the sacrifice of his son Jesus Christ. What does Palm Sunday mean to you, does your church celebrate this biblical event? This signifies that he is the King of the Jews, our soon coming king, one to die for our sins. To be the propitiation for sin. Our Jesus, the lowly Jesus, loved us so very much to die for our sins.
Not only with spring comes flowers and bright green grasses, pretty hats, and new shoes for Easter. But what comes in this season, is the story of Jesus and his walk to the cross. The path to Calvary, from Gethsemane, the rejection, hurt, pain that he endured.
The Easter bunny is known throughout the country and the world, books are written, plays given in your elementary schools, and the stores are flooded with all sorts of candy and brand new shiny shoes with pretty bows, and hats for the ladies and the little girls. The bunny will even take a picture with your child for a fee. Well, commercialism, just like Christmas, the toys the parties you get it.
Jesus was born into this world, not to condemn it , but to save us from our sins, give us new life with him. He walked the dusty roads from Nazareth to Jerusalem. He healed the blind man, raised the dead, fed the five thousand, so many miracles , and the love that he showed to his fellow man. How can we forget what he has done for us all? The love it took to hang on an old rugged cross, with nails in his hands and feet, the crown of thorns that pierced his skull until the blood spewed, with any head injury, it is known to bleed profusely. The spitting in his face, and the plucking of his beard, the stripes, oh those beatings, one can only imagine the torture and the excruciating pain he felt. There were shards of stone, and glass, at each swing , it ripped apart his flesh. I believe you get the picture I have tried to portray for you. We would never really now just how he looked, and felt, we were not there, but many watched him to be humiliated, and torn into shreds by the hands of men he loved, and may have healed.
Easter … well this is a day reserved for my Lord, his goodness towards me and to every one of this world, he offered his body a living sacrifice. The prayer he prayed at Gethsemane, the sweat of his brow poured out like great drops of blood, how he must have agonized at the thought of what he must have to go through for me and you.
The Prayer in the Garden
32 Then they came to a place which was named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, “Sit here while I pray.”
Betrayal and Arrest in Gethsemane
18 When Jesus had spoken these words, He went out with His disciples over the Brook Kidron, where there was a garden, which He and His disciples entered. 2 And Judas, who betrayed Him, also knew the place; for Jesus often met there with His disciples. 3 Then Judas, having received a detachment of troops, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons
Betrayal and Arrest in Gethsemane
Matthew 26: 46-48
47 And while He was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and elders of the people.
48 Now His betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him.”
he twelve, went before them and drew near to Jesus to kiss Him.
Jesus was with his friends, and one of his friends betrayed him. The others fled and left him. Peter denied him thrice. How lonely and horrible he had to have felt. He knew before he came to this earth, what he was going to do. He set out to live and die for each of us.
Jesus Christ him crucified, died for you, and me, so we can be set free from the bondage of sin. To live life eternally with him, he not only died for us, but when he arose and ascended into heaven, he gave us a gift, a gift of life, and now a Comforter to the Holy Spirit, to see us through out our daily lives. To walk with us, to guide our hearts, to convict our hearts, to renew our minds, to give us knowledge by way of discernment through his Holy Spirit by way of reading the word. The word, Jesus is the word, the living bread, he is our Lord and Savior, so this Easter, think about what he has done for you. Not the Easter bunny, that is just a pagan image, manmade. Give your children the Lord on Easter and everyday.
It Is Never Enough
I cannot relate exactly what Jesus did for us all. I can only give a thought, and example, or an idea of what it may have been like. No words could every portray, no mortal tongue could ever say, just what Jesus did. No artist could every portray the love of Jesus. Do you know Jesus? Ask him into your heart today, he loves you so very much, you know he died for you. He will forgive you of all your sins, and give to you a new heart, new life in him. Wont you ask him in your heart today? He is a whisper away.
Thank You Dear Sweet Jesus Christ, My Savior
Hello, I am Virginia, welcome to our Harvesting of Faith . I pray that we have left you with some great tools to help with your daily walk with God. You may contact me by sending an email. Let us pray for you and your needs. We are here to build up the body of Christ. To connect with women, that may need a point of contact for their faith to grow. We can give prayer support, and also give you scriptures to further your walk with God. We also want to spread the message of the cross, how Jesus gave his life so that you and I may have eternal life with Him. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that ,whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. This is for you and me so lets take this journey together in Jesus Christ.
12 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.
2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.
3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)
4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.
5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
6 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.
7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.
9 And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.
10 When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.
11 And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.
Prayer Is Our Lifeline to God
Prayer without ceasing from the church was made continually for Peter. In James 12 2-4, James’s death is the first and only apostolic martyrdom recorded in Scripture. Herod intended to make Peter the second martyr and took extreme measures to secure his imprisonments, leaving the four soldiers to guard him at all times.
In verse 7, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. Due to continual faith in God and constant prayer this man was set free.
Today some of us may have chains that need to be broken, and for us to be set free, we can have that same miracle from God, if we pray without ceasing, and have faith in God. His word is true, and what he says he will do, this he will do for you!
Herod had intended to kill Peter , he wanted to make an example of Peter and send a message to the church. But God prevailed mightier than this evil leader and he heard the cries of his children, for their brother. Though the prayer through the church was a fervent prayer, due to Peter’s situation, there was a deficiency in faith in v 15, 16.
15 And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.
16 But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.Evidently they did not believe God would answer in this miraculous way or so soon.
We have his assurance that he will meet our need. and answer our prayer. Hold on to this thought and through faith, believe God will answer any prayer you may have. Trust in the Lord, and you will find that your situation as been taken care of by the master. Sometimes his answer is quick, and also he answers in his way and in his own time. God does answer prayer. Have you ever heard or read the scripture, James 5:161, Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
How many times can you recall the hand of God on your life, and how he did answer your prayer, maybe you did not realize that moment when the prayer was answered, but eventually it did come, your answer came. In saying this, remember we serve a loving God, and Heavenly Father, that wants the very best for his children that serve him.
There are so many views of what Christianity is to be. I cannot begin to tell you my thoughts on this subject. If we are his children, yes we are to love everyone, but not condone sin. If we turn an eye, or wink at sin, how is that right in God’s eye? It is not. I read an excerpt the other day, stating a fact this one person said, I saw that movie and I am still a Christian. Well if you are a Christian, your example and your walk is to be that, Christ like. I would not want to compare my walk with Jesus Christ as the world may view and walk. I was really surprised at the remark this one person may use as their point of view of being a Christian. I can tell you this much, if we walk with Christ, it is to be a walk that is genuine.
2 Corinthians 5:17
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
How will the world know Jesus, if we walk and talk their walk. We are not to prove that we too can be politically correct, Jesus did not walk politically correct. He was ridiculed for his walk, his ways, his teachings. We are a new creation in Christ, do not keep the old garments of sin. Shine the light for all to see and not be ashamed of your walk and your stand for Christ.
You are fooling yourself, and also making an excuse for your actions . We may feel that we are hurting no one but ourselves, but that is not true. People we work with and family watch our walk. We may be the only Jesus they would every see, it is not just about his love, but also doing what is right in the eyes of God. If we continue to live as the world lives, how is this different? This is not coming from a religious spirit as I write this to you, but in love .
How will they know the right way, or know we represent Jesus Christ, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords, with our walk stained and tarnished as if we never knew him. Walk the walk, not just talk the walk.
